From 2014–2017 …
I’ve been writing some art critique and essays lately.
Uncontaminated festival, Oslo (October 2016)
I was invited to participate in the international fashion & art festival «Uncontaminated» in October, which is arranged & curated by Hilde Pettersen Reljin and Rita Mostrøm Larsen. It’s a huge event taking place at the old docks of Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen in Oslo, which is now a super-chic shopping and dining area, and the location of the beautiful Astrup Fearley Museum and it’s collaborator, the elegant art hotel The Thief. During the festival all the shops, restaurants and old harbor warehouses are turned into galleries, food-tasting hobs and catwalks. This year Uncontaminated also opened for Bjarne Melgaard and Bob Recine. Here is a short interview with me, in connection with my opening and theme:

Downtown 500 (June 2016)
The online underground fanzine Downtown 500, is more like an artist conversation, than a magazine. The two founders Artur Sopin and Andreas Roed, who recently moved to Copenhagen, have a good overview of what’s going on, and was a joy to work with. I had the pleasure of talking to them in May last year, which culminated in this online piece, plus the video further down. The fashions are styles by Mitsu Fruitbasket, who runs a second hand concept store in Oslo called Gypsywagon. The piece «Nipple honesty with Hilde Marstrander» is here!
Here is the video, which was published on International Women’s Day 2016; 8th of March. And here is a still from it:
Tara Magazine is currently the best-selling women’s magazine in Norway, and I was delighted to be featured with six pages in their new series «Norwegian women with success abroad» late this summer. The independent freelance journalist, Lene Wikander, is perhaps one of the best we have in this country, and is often taking the journey across the pond to visit and interview friends and colleagues in New York. She has a hilarious blog, for those who read Norwegian. Photos by Xenia Villafranca.Tara_spread_august2015_9079
From 2015–2017

Norwegian Assoc. for Arts & Crafts’ Magazine (May 2015)
I have for a couple of years been writing articles and art reviews for The Norwegian Associaction for Arts and Crafts’ Magazine. This is a piece I did in May about The Land Foundation in Northern Thailand, where I had an art residency for three months this spring. The piece includes my travel-log and an interview with the founder of the residency, the well-reknown Thai artist Kamin Lertchaiprasert, who has exhibited at e.g. Guggenheim Museum in NYC and the Venice Biennale.Hilde_The Land Foundation_Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts-1Hilde_The Land Foundation_Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts-2

The publication in English was a part of our finals at Tromsø Academy of Contemporary Art, and includes presentation of graduation projects, photos, drawings, essays and interviews. The book was also ranked by The Village Voice as one of the weirdest covers at the fair. Jacket design by Shameer Nyland Kinniya. Summer of 2014 I wrote a travel report from my time in NYC for the Danish online magazine Lab of Style; a magazine made by and for photographers and visual artists. Note: You need to sign up an log in to read the full story. Here is an excerpt of the six-page spread:
